How much oil does a diffuser use?
It depends on the machine, the intensity and how many hours it runs. As a guide, from the manufacturers' specifications:
- ASH 200: 0.13–2.5 g of oil per hour
- ASH 500: 0.31–6.2 g per hour
- ASH 1000: 0.4–8 g per hour
- Mistify Pro M62: about 3 ml per hour
- S200A: about 1 ml per hour
Worked example: the Mistify Pro M62 uses about 3 ml an hour, so its 1,000 ml bottle gives about 330 hours of running time, or around 41 days at 8 hours a day. A lower intensity and a shorter daily schedule make a bottle last longer.
Using aroma oil in a cold-air diffuser
Pour the oil into the machine's oil bottle as supplied. Cold-air diffusers do not use water, so do not dilute the oil. Follow your machine's own refill steps: on the ASH series, press the unlock button four times quickly, lift the atomising head, add the oil and tighten the bottle.
Aroma oil or essential oil?
Essential oils are extracted from a single plant. Aroma oils, also called fragrance oils, are blended scents. Scentivo's oils are blended for use in scent diffuser machines in homes, offices, hotels, clinics and shops.

Frequently asked questions
What is diffuser oil?
Diffuser oil, also called aroma oil or fragrance oil, is the scented oil that a scent diffuser machine turns into a fine mist.

How long does a bottle of diffuser oil last?
It depends on the machine's output and schedule. For example, the Mistify Pro M62 uses about 3 ml an hour, so a 1,000 ml bottle runs for about 330 hours, or around 41 days at 8 hours a day. A lower intensity or a shorter schedule makes the oil last longer.
